Women's Soccer wins OAC Tournament Championship with 3-2 victory over John Carroll

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's soccer team won the program's sixth OAC Tournament Championship with a 3-2 victory over John Carroll on a beautiful Saturday afternoon.

The Basics

• John Carroll scored first in the 11th minute to go up 1-0 early in the game.
• Senior Alyssa Beckett (Monroe) answered with a goal just 1:31 later off an assist from fifth-year senior Kylie Cabana (Dexter, Mich.) to tie the game up.
• Junior Haley Cannon (Oregon/Clay) scored unassisted in the 26th minute to take the lead.
• Senior Jess Gast (Perrysburg) scored off an assist from senior Emma Bowman (Novi, Mich./Northville) just before halftime to go up 3-1.
• The Blue Streaks scored a late goal in the 86th minute, but the Polar Bears held on to win.
• Sophomore Emma Gramke (Dayton/Centerville) had two saves in goal for ONU.
• ONU out-shot JCU 23-8 and had a 9-2 advantage in corner kicks.
