Two goals from Jill Roberts lead Women's Soccer to a 3-1 win at Otterbein

WESTERVILLE — Two goals from fifth-year senior Jill Roberts (Bellbrook/Carroll) led the Ohio Northern women's soccer team to a 3-1 win at Otterbein on Wednesday evening.

The Basics

• Records: Ohio Northern (9-5-1 overall, 5-1-0 OAC), Otterbein (7-4-4 overall, 2-2-2 OAC).
• Venue: Memorial Stadium - Westerville, Ohio.

The Match

• Roberts scored unassisted just six minutes into the match for the Polar Bears.
• Senior Alyssa Beckett (Monroe) scored on an assist from junior Claire Wiseman (Cincinnati/Saint Ursula Academy) to go up 2-0 with 13 minutes gone.
• Otterbein scored in the 64th minute to cut Ohio Northern's lead to one.
• Roberts scored her second goal off an assist from senior Brianna Gervers (Grand Blanc, Mich.) in the 72nd minute to put the match away for Northern.
• Sophomore Emma Gramke (Dayton/Centerville) had two saves in goal for ONU.
• ONU out-shot OU 13-7 but Otterbein had a 4-2 advantage in corner kicks.

• Ohio Northern leads the all-time series between the two schools by a 24-19-5 margin, including a 15-12-1 mark in Westerville.
• Roberts leads the Polar Bears through 15 matches with 20 points in seven goals and six assists.
• Senior Elizabeth Pierce (Liberty Township/Mount Notre Dame) and Beckett also have a team-best seven goals.
• This is the 37th season of Ohio Northern women's soccer. The Polar Bears are now 438-218-57 all-time in program history.
• Second-year head coach Ben Tierney is now 19-14-2 at Ohio Northern.
