NEW CONCORD — Six different players scored goals as the Ohio Northern women's soccer team earned a 6-0 victory at Muskingum on Saturday afternoon. 

The Basics

  • Records: Ohio Northern (7-4-1 overall, 3-0-0 OAC), Muskingum (3-8-0 overall, 0-3-0 OAC).
  • Venue: North Atlantic Turf Field - New Concord, Ohio.

  • Fifth-year senior Jill Roberts (Bellbrook/Carroll) scored off an assist from sophomore Caroline Hennegan (Delaware/Olentangy) in the 11th minute.
  • Freshman Elizabeth Woelfel (Cincinnati/Seton) scored unassisted in the 42nd minute to go up 2-0.
  • Junior Rileigh Glassburn (Delaware/Olentangy Berlin) scored off an assist from senior Emma Bowman (Novi, Mich./Northville) in the 75th minute.
  • Junior Haley Cannon (Oregon/Clay) scored unassisted just 1:28 later to go up 4-0.
  • In the 82nd minute, senior Chandler Clark (Lima/Bath) scored off an assist by senior Brianna Gervers (Grand Blanc, Mich.)
  • Just 2:28 later, freshman Mya Veeneman (Loveland) scored unassisted to put the game away.
  • ONU out-shot MU 38-2 and had a 7-0 advantage in corner kicks.

Notables

  • Ohio Northern leads the all-time series between the two schools by a 33-4-0 margin, including a 16-3-0 record at Muskingum.
  • Northern has won 20 straight in the series.
  • Roberts now leads the team with 16 points and six assists.
  • This is the 37th season of Ohio Northern women's soccer. The Polar Bears are now 436-217-57 all-time in program history.
  • Second-year head coach Ben Tierney is now 17-13-2 at Ohio Northern.
