ADA — In a rematch of last season's Ohio Athletic Conference Tournament championship game, the Ohio Northern women's soccer team came away with a scoreless draw with Otterbein on Wednesday night at Kerscher Stadium.
The Polar Bears (6-1-3 overall, 1-0-1 OAC) run their unbeaten streak to four games, while the Cardinals move to 4-4-2 overall and 0-1-1 in the OAC.
Northern out-shot OU by a 6-1 margin in the first half but was unable to get on the scoreboard.
It was much the same story in the second half, as the Polar Bears held a 16-0 edge in shots but had no goals to show for it.
Junior Jill Roberts (Bellbrook/Carroll) attempted a team-high five shots to go with four from sophomore Elizabeth Pierce (Liberty Township/Mount Notre Dame).
Sophomore Alyssa Beckett (Monroe) had a team-best two shots on goal.
ONU senior goalkeeper Becky Moss (Lebanon/Mount Notre Dame) recorded one save in what marked her sixth shutout of the season.
Otterbein goalkeeper Ella Schwertfager tallied seven saves.
ONU finished with a 22-1 advantage in shots, including 7-1 in shots on goal, and a 6-3 edge in corner kicks.
The Polar Bears return to action on Saturday for a road game at Capital at 1 p.m.
