ADA — The Ohio Northern women's soccer team celebrated Senior Day in grand fashion, posting a 6-0 victory over Muskingum on beautiful Saturday afternoon at Kerscher Stadium.
The Polar Bears improve to 7-3-2 overall and stay atop the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 3-0-0 mark, while the Muskies fall to 2-11-0, 0-3-0.
Six different players scored in the match, led by freshman Emma Bowman (Novi, Mich./Northville) with a goal and an assist.
Freshman Elizabeth Pierce (Liberty Township/Mount Notre Dame) got the scoring underway with an unassisted goal just 11:46 into the contest.
Sophomore Jill Roberts (Bellbrook/Carroll) made it 2-0 in the 20th minute off an assist from Bowman.
That lead held until the second half when Bowman scored 12:19 into the period to make it 3-0.
A flurry of three goals in a span of 6:44 late in the match put the game away.
Junior Cienna Kuhn (Elida) scored at the 74:21 mark, sophomore Alaina Casey (Beavercreek/Carroll) made it 5-0 with 76:18 gone and senior Tara Morris (Monroe) completed the scoring at 81:05 off an assist from junior Madison Vitt (Uniontown/Lake).
Ohio Northern out-shot Muskingum 24-1 and enjoyed an 11-2 advantage in corner kicks.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Wednesday with a 7 pm road match at Wilmington.
