NEW CONCORD — The Ohio Northern women's soccer team remained undefeated on the season with a 6-0 victory at Muskingum on Sunday afternoon at the North Turf Field.
The Polar Bears improve to 3-0-0 overall and stay atop the Ohio Athletic Conference with a 3-0-0 mark, while the Muskies fall to 0-3-0, 0-3-0.
Freshman Alex Hoeffel (Continental) scored a pair of goals to lead the ONU offense.
Senior Siena Ward (Newport Beach, Cal./Newport Harbor), junior Caroline Goeller (Dayton/Oakwood) and sophomores Hailey McGuire (Lone Tree, Colo./Highlands Ranch) and Madison Vitt (Uniontown/Lake) also scored for the Polar Bears.
Hoeffel scored in the sixth minute and Ward followed in the 13th minute as Northern led 2-0 at halftime.
Hoeffel scored again in the 50th minute and Vitt found the net in the 68th minute to make it 4-0.
Goeller and McGuire scored just 1:04 apart to make it 6-0 with 3:17 left in the match.
ONU out-shot MU 49-5.
Junior Kristy Catrine (Springboro) had one save in goal for her third career shutout in as many career starts. She also extended her scoreless streak to 273 career minutes.
The Polar Bears will return to action Thursday night at home agains Wilmington at Kerscher Stadium.
