GRANVILLE — Freshman Cienna Kuhn (Elida) and junior Jenna Fuller (Countryside, Ill./Lyons Township) both scored goals for the Ohio Northern women's soccer team en route to a 2-2 draw with Denison on Wednesday evening at Barclay-Thomsen Field.
The Polar Bears (2-1-2) outshot the Big Red (1-2-3) 25-15, generating an 11-6 advantage in on-target attempts.
Kuhn, in her seventh minute of collegiate action and first career appearance, netted a goal in the 81st minute to give ONU a 2-1 lead before Denison tied up the match in the 88th minute.
The Big Red got on the scoreboard first in the 7th minute to take a 1-0 edge.
In the 25th minute, Fuller—who produced nine shots and six shots on goal—drew Northern level at 1-1.
Freshman Lauren Nason (Grosse Ile, Mich.) sent a deep through ball that Fuller gathered prior to beating the DU keeper from 12 yards out.
Kuhn gave the Polar Bears a 2-1 lead in the 81st minute.
Sophomore Caroline Goeller (Dayton/Oakwood) fired a ball to the left side of the box, which senior Rose Nienaber (Cincinnati/Oak Hills) crossed to Kuhn. Kuhn one-touched the ball from 8 yards out to give the Polar Bears a 2-1 lead
Denison scored the equalizer in the 88th minute to tie the match at 2-2.
Northern outshot the Big Red 4-3 in the first 10-minute overtime period.
Despite being edged 2-1 in shots in the second overtime period, Fuller nearly ended the game in the 109th minute on a left-footed strike from 15 yards out, but Denison's Patil Tcholakian made the save.
The Polar Bears also held an 8-5 advantage in corner kicks.
Ohio Northern returns to the pitch on Saturday for a 1 p.m. contest against Calvin (Mich.) at Kerscher Stadium.
