ADA — The Ohio Northern women's soccer team completed the non-conference portion of its schedule with a 2-0 victory over Wittenberg at Kerscher Stadium on Tuesday night.
The Polar Bears have won six straight matches via shutout, improving to 6-2-0 on the season. The Tigers fall to 2-5-2.
Sophomore Jenna Fuller (Countryside, Ill./Lyons Township) netted two goals to lead the Polar Bears. She has now scored in five consecutive matches, with eight goals in that span.
Junior goalie Meagan Grierson (Miamisburg) saved the lone Wittenberg shot on goal to earn her 26th career shutout.
Grierson and the Polar Bears have not conceded a goal at Kerscher Stadium in 884 minutes, a span of more than eight matches and dating back to November 1, 2017.
Fuller put ONU up 1-0 in the 11th minute, beating the Wittenberg goalkeeper by firing low shot to the back post from the left side of the box.
The Polar Bear defense did not give up a shot or corner kick in the first half as ONU took a 1-0 lead into the locker room.
Northern struck again in the 48th minute.
Following a corner kick, junior Haley Moses (Mason) sent a low pass to the feet of Fuller, who converted the open look from three yards out, putting ONU up 2-0.
ONU outshot WU 25-2. The Polar Bears recorded nine corner kicks to three for the Tigers.
Ohio Northern will return to the pitch on Saturday, opening Ohio Athletic Conference play with a 4 p.m. match at Marietta.
