ADA -- The No. 21-ranked women's soccer team dropped a 2-0 decision to Otterbein University Tuesday evening at Memorial Stadium.
The Polar Bears fall to 7-3-0 overall, and 1-1-0 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Cardinals improve to 6-3-1, 1-1-0.
After a nearly scoreless first half, OU was able to break the 0-0 in the 39th minute to gain a 1-0 advantage before the intermission.
The Cardinals would add to their lead in the 73rd minute to seal the 2-0 victory.
Senior Shelby Stephens (Cypress, Tex./Cypress Woods) led Northern offensively, as she put three shots on goal.
Freshman Meagan Grierson (Miamisburg/Miamisburg) led the Polar Bears in the goal with four saves.
Ohio Northern out shot Otterbein by a 14-10 margin, while winning the corner kick battle by a 7-5 margin.
The Polar Bears will return to action Saturday as they host Capital in the second annual Friends of Jaclyn game at 1 pm.
