Women's Soccer excels academically

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's soccer team displayed success not only on the soccer field but in the classroom last season.

Under head coach Mark Batman the Polar Bears posted a team GPA of 3.44.

Of the 27 on the varsity roster, 10 were above a 3.5 GPA.

Of the 10, eight were of junior or senior status and in the regular rotation on game day.

The Polar Bears also had 12 of the total 27 receive Dean's List accolades in 2016.

Concluding their long list of academic accomplishments this season, Northern also had seven student athletes earn Academic All-Ohio Athletic Conference accolades and three earn OCSA Academic All-Ohio honors.

The Polar Bears finished the regular season with a 12-7-2 record and finished second in the OAC with a 7-2 mark.
