Seniors Alex Weirich and Emily Brodict receive top honors; Five named All-Ohio Athletic Conference in Women's Soccer

ADA — Senior Alex Weirich was named Midfielder of the Year, while senior Emily Brodict was named OAC Goalkeeper of the Year in women's soccer as voted by the league's ten head coaches.
Five Polar Bears received All-OAC honors.
Weirich, Brodict, junior Shelby Stephens and sophomore Hannah Reich all earned First Team All-OAC honors, while Junior Michaela Gutierrez was named Second Team All-OAC.
Weirich is the third Polar Bear to receive the Midfielder of the Year honor.
The First team selection started all 21 contest for the Polar Bears scoring three goals and recording one assist.
She earns her second All-OAC selection.
Brodict is the first Polar Bear to win Goalkeeper of the Year honors.
This is her second All-OAC honor, after being named Honorable Mention a season ago.
She led the team with 74 saves, a 1.04 GAA and seven shutouts.
The senior is currently ranked fifth all-time in ONU career history in shutouts (19) and saves (233).
Stephens led Northern this season with team-highs in goals (10), assists (11) and points (31).
The mid-fielder started all 21 games for the Polar Bears, earning her second All-OAC honor.
Reich earns her second All-OAC honor.
This season, the defender appeared in and started 18 games, scoring one goal.
Gutierrez started in all 21 contest for the Polar Bears this season, scoring two goals.
The junior earns her second All-OAC selection.
Ohio Northern finished 12-7-2 overall, 7-2-0 OAC and finished Runner-Up in the OAC Tournament.
