ADA - The Ohio Northern women's soccer team dropped its first match of the season 3-0 Saturday afternoon to Hope, Mich. at Kerscher Stadium.
The Polar Bears fall to 2-1-0 overall, while Hope improves to 3-0-0 on the season.
In the 70th minute, trailing 2-0, Ohio Northern freshman McKenna Welsh threatened the Hope lead but came up short as the goalkeeper for the Flying Dutchmen was able to make the save.
The Flying Dutchmen dominated much of the game recording two goals in the first half and one in the second half.
Senior Emily Brodict tied a game-high three saves in the contest for the Polar Bears, while Welsh fired off two shots.
Junior Haley Napier also fired off two shots in the contest, one of which was saved by the Hope goalkeeper.
Ohio Northern is next in action Friday, Sept. 11 when they take on #7 ranked Carnnegie Mellon, Pa.
