UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS -- The Ohio Northern women's soccer team dropped a road contest by a 3-0 score to John Carroll on Friday night at Don Shula Stadium.
The Polar Bears see their five match win streak snapped and fall to 9-7-1 and 5-2-0 in the OAC, while the Blue Streaks improve to 8-6-3, 5-2-0.
John Carroll scored two first half goals, both off of corner kicks to take a 2-0 lead into the half.
Kaylin Akerly added a goal early in the second half to expand the Blue Streaks lead to 3-0.
Northern looked to battle back, but shots by senior Abbie Schauble and freshman Michaela Gutierrez were saved.
Senior Sandy Plunkett led ONU with five shots, while senior Lauren Brown and Schauble each took three.
Sophomore goalkeeper Emily Brodict (8-6-1) made three saves in goal.
Haley McDonald made 10 saves in goal for John Carroll and improves to 5-5-1.
The Polar Bears outshot the Blue Streaks 21-11 and also held a 11-6 edge in shots on goal.
Ohio Northern will return to action on Wednesday, when it hosts Wilmington at 4 pm at Kerscher Stadium.
