Bud Whitehill National Duals by going 4-0 in the two-day event on Jan. 7-8 and are ranked No. 22 nationally in the latest NWCA Division III Coaches Poll for dual teams… Northern defeated York (Pa.) 31-12 and Ferrum (Va.) 45-6 on the opening day of the Lycoming Duals and went on to defeat No. 24 Castelton (Vt.) 27-9 in the semifinals and No. 16 Ithaca (N.Y.) 21-15 in the championship match to extend its current dual win streak to 11 matches … Junior Logan Painter (285) was named the tournament's Most Outstanding Wrestler, as he went 4-0 in the event with two pins, a tech fall and a forfeit victory … Painter was later named Ohio Athletic Conference Wrestler of the Week for his performance, which also included a pin to secure ONU's 29-19 home win over No. 12 Mount Saint Joseph earlier in the week … Seniors Schuyler Caprella (157) and Jordan Hardrick (165) and freshmen Jacob Reed (141) and Nick Campbell (174) also went 2-0 over the course of the semifinals and championship at the Lycoming Duals … Reed is ranked No. 12 nationally at 141 pounds in the latest NWCA Division III poll … Junior Chase Sumner is ranked No. 14 nationally at 149 pounds in the latest NWCA Division III poll … ONU has five wrestlers ranked in the latest d3wrestle.com poll led by Sumner, who is eighth at 149 pounds … Reed, Hardrick and senior Cash Thompson are ranked as Contenders (11-18th ranking) at 141, 165 and 197 pounds, respectively, and Caprella is ranked as Honorable Mention (19-26th ranking) at 157 pounds … Reed leads the Polar Bears with a 25-1 record, 10 pins and five major decisions … Caprella is second with a 22-8 mark and a team-best seven tech falls.

He sports a 352-245-4 career coaching record in dual action, a winning percentage of .590, making him the all-time winningest coach in program history ... Beaschler was inducted into the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Hall of Fame in 2008 and has been named OAC Coach of the Year three times in 1993, 2012, and 2013.
