This Weekend's Preview: The Ohio Northern wrestling team will travel West to the Pete Willson-Wheaton Invitational, which has been held annually since 1938 ... 33 NCAA Division III schools are expected to compete in the double-elimination individual tournament ... 7 of the 33 teams are ranked in the Jan. 15 NWCA Top 25 poll ... On Friday, Prelims, Quarterfinals and wrestlebacks will be contested on six mats beginning at 11 am (CST) ... Saturday's competition will consist of Semifinals, wrestlebacks and the seventh place matches beginning at 10 am, with championship, third place and fifth place matches starting at 12:45 pm ... Trophies and placewinners will be awarded for places one through eight in each of the 10 weight classes ... Freshman Chase Sumner (#16 at 149) and senior Jeff Andrews (#20 at 141) are ranked at their respective weight classes in the Jan. 28 D3Wrestle.com rankings ... Thus far this season, senior Seth Transue leads the team with a 31-2 record ... Junior Schuyler Caprella is second on the team at 30-7, Sumner is third with a 27-4 mark and Andrews is fourth with a 26-10 record ... Junior Cash Thompson is 24-5 and leads the team with 12 pins ... Andrews and Caprella lead the team with 9 tech falls each and Transue leads the team with 8 major decisions ... Transue (91-41) leads all active ONU wrestlers with 91 victories, which ranks him 17 th all-time in ONU history ... Andrews (88-55) is tied for 18th all-time in ONU history, while Thompson is 32nd all-time with a 79-34 career record ... Caprella is one victory away from breaking into ONU's top 50 with a 65-47 career mark.

Head Coach Ron Beaschler: Beaschler is in his 32nd season at the helm of the Ohio Northern wrestling program and currently stands as the longest-tenured head wrestling coach at the institution ... He sports a 337-241-4 career coaching record in dual action, a winning percentage of .582, making him the all-time winningest coach in program history ... Beaschler was inducted into the National Wrestling Coaches Association (NWCA) Hall of Fame in 2008 and has been named OAC Coach of the Year three times in 1993, 2012, and 2013.
