Four Polar Bears advance to placing rounds on Day 1 of Wheaton (Ill.) Invitational

WHEATON (Ill.) — Four Ohio Northern wrestlers advanced to the placing rounds on the first day of the Wheaton (Ill.) Pete Willson Invitational on Friday at King's Arena.
All four men are guaranteed to place in the top eight in their respective weight classes.
Senior All-American Cody Lovejoy and junior Colt Lovejoy are in the semifinals of the 285-pound and 165-pound weight classes, respectively.
Cody, who is ranked No. 1 nationally and is the top seed in the Heavyweight division, went 3-0 with two pins and a major decision.
Colt, who is seeded eighth in his weight class, went 3-0 with a pin and a major decision to reach the semifinals.
Sophomore Kyler Deeter went 3-1 at 157 pounds with three falls and freshman Evan Morgan went 3-1 at 149 pounds. Both men are in the consolation semifinals.
The second and final day of the tournament will begin Saturday morning at 9 am (CST).
