Women's Lacrosse celebrates Senior Day with 18-13 victory over Marietta

ADA — The Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team celebrated Senior Day on a sunny and windy Saturday afternoon with an 18-13 victory over Marietta at Dial-Roberson Stadium.

The Game
- Fifth-year senior Elizabeth Graham (Dayton/Carroll) junior Keaghan Burden (Brunswick) and sophomore Rylie Kocik (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) each had a team-high six points on the day to lead ONU.
- Graham finished the game with a season-high 5 goals and one assist for her six points.
- Burden and Kocik was had 4 goals and two assists for their 6 points.
- Sophomore Elena Martin (Youngstown/Canfield) had three goals to be the fourth Polar Bear to record a hat trick.
- The contest was even throughout the first 45 minutes as ONU led 4-3 after the first quarter, MC led 8-7 at halftime and ONU led 13-12 after three quarters.
- But Martin, Graham (twice) and Kocik all scored to cap a 5-0 Ohio Northern run and give the hosts a 17-12 lead with 7:06 left to play.
- Martin added a career-high eight draw controls and freshman Kassidy Elzey (Miamisburg) added six draw controls for ONU.
- ONU out-shot MC 37-29.
Notables
- Burden is first all-time in Ohio Northern history with 152 career points. She is also ONU's all-time career leader with 90 assists and is seventh with 62 career goals.
- Graham leads the team with 39 goals and Kocik leads the team with 55 points on 36 goals and 19 assists.
- Burden has a team-best 33 assists to go with 49 points.
- Senior Chloe Millican (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) is ONU's all-time career wins leader with 19.
- Ohio Northern has now scored 10 or more goals in 13 of its 14 games this season.
- Head coach Margo Vandeveld is in her first season at Ohio Northern and has an 8-6 record, a winning percentage of .571.
