Graham, Hoersten score 5 goals each as Women's Lacrosse wins 15-12 at Westminster (Pa.)

NEW WILMINGTON, Pa. — Senior Elizabeth Graham (Dayton/Carroll) and sophomore Emma Hoersten (Hilliard/Davidson) each scored five goals to lead the Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team to a 15-12 victory at Westminster (Pa.) on Friday afternoon.

The Game
- Graham and Hoersten each had first half hat tricks as the game was tied at 7-all at intermission.
- Northern raced to a 5-0 lead after the first period, only to see WC score five consecutive goals to tie the game t 6-6 with 2:56 left in the half.
- Northern would score three times in the final 1:12 of the third quarter to lead 14-10.
- Senior Emma Perry (Pickerington/North) scored with 6:38 left in the game to cap the 4-0 run and increase the lead to 15-10.
- Sophomore Elena Martin (Youngstown/Canfield) and freshman Kassidy Elzey (Miamisburg) added two goals each.
- Senior Chloe Millican (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) saved eight of 20 shots on goal to earn her 15th career victory.
- Ohio Northern out-shot Westminster 41-28 and had a 35-25 advantage in ground balls.
Notables
- This was Graham's ninth hat trick in three seasons at ONU.
- Junior Keaghan Burden (Brunswick) is now third all-time in ONU history with 112 career points. She is also ONU's all-time career leader with 62 assists.
- Hoersten now has four career hat tricks. She has had hat tricks in the first half of each of the past two games.
- This game is the fourth of an 8-game road trip to open the season for the Polar Bears.
- Head coach Margo Vandeveld is in her first season at Ohio Northern and has a 3-1 record.
