KALAMAZOO, Mich. — The Ohio Northern women's lacrosse team dropped a tight 13-11 decision at Kalamazoo (Mich.) on Saturday afternoon.

- Sophomore Rylie Kocik (Cicero, N.Y./Cicero-North Syracuse) led the Polar Bears with five points on two goals and three assists.
- Senior Elizabeth Graham (Dayton/Carroll) had a four-goal hat trick.
- Sophomore Elena Martin (Youngstown/Canfield) and sophomore Emma Hoersten (Hilliard/Davidson) each scored two goals.
- Junior Keaghan Burden (Brunswick) and freshman Kassidy Elzey (Miamisburg) each had a point, with Burden scoring a goal and Elzey with an assist.
- Senior Chloe Millican (Fishers, Ind./Hamilton Southeastern) saved 10 of 23 shots on goal.
- The Polar Bears were down early in the first quarter 5-1, but would manage to tie the game at 6, 7 and 8-all.
- Kalamazoo out-shot Ohio Northern 34-25, but ONU had a 26-16 advantage in ground balls.
Notables
- This was Graham's seventh hat trick in three seasons at ONU.
- Burden is now tied for third with 109 career points.
- This game is the second of an 8-game road trip to open the season for the Polar Bears.
- Head coach Margo Vandeveld is in her first season at Ohio Northern and has a 1-1 record.
