Bio

Kim Burke is in her third year as head coach of the Polar Bear softball team.

In her first two seasons as head of the Polar Bears, she led the team to a 58-28 overall record, a pair of Ohio Athletic Conference Regular Season titles, two trips to the NCAA III Tournament and an appearance in the 2012 NCAA III World Series.

Burke brings a wealth of experience to the Polar Bear program as a coach, as well as a student-athlete.

Most recently, she spent four years (2006-10) as an assistant coach at Kent State.

In four years at Kent, Burke helped the Golden Flashes win three regular season titles and four MAC East Titles.

Kent went 67-16 in conference play and had four of the six highest home run totals and three of the top six RBI totals in school history during her tenure. The 2010 squad set school and conference records with 59 home runs.

The 2008 squad posted a 46-12 record, which was the most wins by a MAC school since the league started in 1984, and the 2007 squad posted the second-highest single-season doubles total of 75.

The Golden Flashes captured their fifth straight MAC East Division title in 2010 season, earned a co-regular season championship and finished runner-up at the MAC Tournament.

Additionally, she was an assistant coach at Massachusetts (2001-03) where she assisted the Minutewomen team to a 92-29 record (.760), and won two Atlantic 10 regular season and tournament championships in her tenure.

She was also a member of the coaching staff that was named the Northeast Region Coaching Staff of the Year in 2003.

A 2001 graduate of CMU, Burke starred for the Chippewas from 1998-2001. A four-time All-MAC selection, she also earned All-Great Lakes Regional honors once.

Central Michigan won the MAC Tournament each of her final three years. She then returned to her alma mater as an assistant in 2004-2006.

Burke resides in Findlay.
