Ashley Lenser named OAC Softball Pitcher of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern junior Ashley Lenser (Brookville) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Softball Pitcher of the Week for the week of Mar. 11-17.

The recognition comes after throwing a complete game 4-hitter in a 9-1 win against Gettysburg (Pa.) on Tuesday where she only allowed one earned run while striking out seven batters. She then got the win on Wednesday against Beloit (Wis.) allowing only five hits while striking out three to improve to 3-1 on the year.

Lenser has 22 strikeouts and a 2.23 ERA in 22.0 innings in the circle and is hitting .455 with 2 home runs and 9 RBI at the plate.

This is Lenser's fifth time receiving the honor in her career.

The Polar Bears (6-4 overall) return to action on Saturday in a double-header against Hope (Mich.) (11-6 overall) at 1 and 3 p.m.
