CLERMONT, Fla. — The Ohio Northern softball team fell to 1-2 on the season after 10-3 loss to Emmanuel (Mass.) on the second day of its spring break trip on Monday afternoon at The Spring Games at Hancock Park.
The game was called due to rain in the top of the seventh frame and Polar Bears' contest with Coast Guard (Conn.), slated for Monday evening, was rained out.
The Saints improve to 1-2.
ONU scored single runs in each of the first three innings to lead 3-0 heading into the top of the fourth.
Emmanuel scored twice in the fourth and five more times in the sixth to take a 7-3 lead. MC then plated three more runs in the top of the seventh before rain halted play.
Junior Rachel Hish (Gainesville, Va./Patroit) was 1-for-2 and reached base three times and freshman Ashley Lenser (Brookville) was 2-for-4 with a double to lead the Ohio Northern offense.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Tuesday morning with games against Saint Mary's (Ind.) and Wheaton (Ill.)
