Softball will travel to Marshall, Tex., to play #12 Salisbury (Md.) in First Round of Marshall Regional of NCAA III Tournament

ADA — The Ohio Northern softball team travel to Marshall, Tex. and will face No. 12-ranked Salisbury (Md.) in the First Round of the Marshall Regional on Friday at 1:30 p.m. (CST) in the NCAA III Softball Tournament.
The fifth-seeded Polar Bears (24-18-1) will play the second-seeded Seagulls (24-7) in the second game of the day.
No. 5-ranked and third-seeded Birmingham Southern (Ala.) will play Redlands (Calif.) in Game 3 of the Regional at 4 p.m.
No. 8-ranked and top-seeded tournament host East Texas Baptist will play sixth-seeded Eastern Nazarene (Pa.) in the opening game of the Regional on Friday at 11 a.m.
The Polar Bears earned the Ohio Athletic Conference's automatic bid to the NCAA III Championships by winning the OAC Tournament last weekend.
The NCAA Tournament is a 48-team field with eight six-team Regional double-elimination tournaments this weekend.
The eight Regional champions advance to the NCAA III Softball World Series May 27-June 1 at Salem, Va.
This marks the second time in the past three seasons (2018) that ONU has won the OAC Tournament title and advanced to the NCAA III Tournament.
