CLERMONT, Fla. — The Ohio Northern softball team improved to 9-1 on its Spring Break trip with victories over Roger Williams (R.I.) and Sage (N.Y.) on Friday.
The Polar Bears began the day with a 6-0 victory over Roger Williams and topped Sage 8-2 in the nightcap.
Junior Jenna Hollar (Lima/Bath) and sophomore Hailee Loughman (Brookville) each had four base hits on the day to lead the ONU offense.
Junior Kirsten Lightel (Tallmadge) improved to 5-0 on the season with a 3-hit shutout in the victory over RWU.
Laughman drilled her second home run of the season and finished with 3 RBI in the game.
In the nightcap, the Polar Bears took advantage of sixe errors and scored in each of the first five innings to win 8-2.
Sophomore Kaitlin Surdej (Lancaster/Central) improved to 4-1 in the circle with a complete game victory.
The Polar Bears will rap up their Spring Break trip on Saturday with games against Catholic (D.C.) and Bethany (W.Va.)
