ANDERSON, Ind. - Junior Amanda Lahti leads Ohio Northern softball team as they drop a double header to Anderson 4-5, 3-12 Thursday afternoon at the Raven Softball field.
The Polar Bears fall to 18-11 overall, while Anderson improves to 18-6.
In game 1, the Polar Bears were led by Lahti who went 2-for-4 with 3 RBIs.
ONU scored first in the game as they were able to plate three runs in the top of the third, as freshman Jenna Hollar and Lahti both recorded RBIs in the inning.
The Ravens responded in the bottom half of the inning, as they capitalized on Polar Bear miscues to tie the score 3-3.
Ohio Northern added one more in the fifth, before Anderson scored two in the bottom half of the inning to win the game 5-4.
Sophomore, pitcher, Kirsten Burden got the start for the Polar Bears in the contest going four innings, three of which were scoreless.
In game two, the Anderson offense came alive as they jumped to a quick 3-0 lead in the bottom of the first.
Freshman Gia Saturday drove in the Polar Bears first run of the game in the top of the third as she singled, scoring Hollar.
The Ravens responded as they tacked on one more in the third and another in the fourth.
In the top of the fifth, freshman Anna Martin was able to capitalize on an Anderson error and cut into the Ravens lead 5-2.
The Polar Bears weren't done, as senior Taylor Manahan reached first on a fielders choice scoring Saturday to add another run in the inning, 5-3.
Anderson erupted in the bottom of the fifth as they plated seven runs, including a walk off home run to win the game, 12-3.
Ohio Northern returns to action Saturday as they host Marietta and celebrate senior day at the ONU Softball Field.
