UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS -- The Ohio Northern softball team dropped a pair of games at John Carroll on Saturday afternoon at Bracken Field.
JCU won the opener 9-1 and took the nightcap 11-6
The Polar Bears fall to 11-13 overall and are 4-4 in the Ohio Athletic Conference, while the Blue streaks improve to 10-10, 4-4.
In the opener, junior Adriana Sikora went 2-for-3 and drove in the lone run for Ohio Northern.
John Carroll scored six times in the bottom of the first and held on for the win.
In Game 2, JCU jumped to a 7-1 lead after two innings, but the Polar Bears rallied for five runs in the top of the third to pull within 7-6.
Senior Carly McKenzie had an RBI double and scored on a single by senior Christin Miller to make it a 7-3 game.
Sophomore Amanda Lahti followed with a 2-run single and sophomore Lindsay Simmons wrapped up the rally with a run-scoring single.
McKenzie, Miller, Lahti and senior Colleen Baliga each had two hits to lead the Ohio Northern offense.
The Polar Bears will return to action on Monday with a double header at Adrian (Mich.)
