CLERMONT, Fla. -- The Ohio Northern softball team wrapped up its spring break trip with a 12-1 win over Webster (Mo.) and an 11-1 loss to No. 11-ranked Coe (Iowa) Saturday morning at the Dot Richardson Games.
The Polar Bears move to 7-5 on the season.
Both games were called in the fifth inning due to the NCAA's 8-run rule.
Against Webster, junior Adriana Sikora smashed a walk-off grand slam home run in the bottom of the fifth to put ONU up 12-1 and end the game. Sikora leads the Polar Bears with four home runs thus far this season.
Freshman Paige Ordean threw a complete-game 6-hitter and did not allow an earned run to improve to 7-2 on the season.
Junior Kelly Sheridan hit her second home run of the season and finished 3-for-3 with 3 RBI and sophomore Anne Dreher went 3-for-3 with an RBI for ONU.
In the final game of the trip, Northern's hot offensive streak came to an end against No. 11 Coe.
Senior Bre Hiteshew singled and later scored in a squeeze bunt by senior Christin Miller to provide ONU's offense.
The Polar Bears are slated to play again on March 18 when they host No. 16 Trine (Ind.) at the ONU Softball Field.
