BEXLEY — The Ohio Northern softball team dropped a pair of Ohio Athletic Conference pitcher's duels Tueday afternoon at Clowson Field.
Capital won the opener 3-0 and took the nightcap 1-0.
The Polar Bears fall to 9-13 overall and are 8-8 in OAC action, while the Crusaders improve to 28-8, 14-2.
Senior Abbey Bensing was outstanding in the circle, allowing just three earned runs while pitching all 12 innings on the day.
In Game 2, Bensing threw a 2-hitter and allowed only an RBI ground out in the second inning.
But Capital pitchers Brook Billings and Alyssa Patznick were both also outstanding, limiting the ONU offense to just six hits on the afternoon.
Juniors Christin Miller and Colleen Baliga and sophomore Kelly Sheridan each had two base hits for the Polar Bears.
Ohio Northern will return to action on Thursday with a double header at non-conference foe Anderson (Ind.)
