NEW CONCORD -- Senior All-American Kimi Blewett homered and drove in four runs to lead the No. 25 Ohio Northern softball to a double split at Muskingum Sunday afternoon at Donna Newberry Field.
Muskingum rallied to win the opener 3-2 while ONU came from behind to win the nightcap 9-6.
The Polar Bears end their regular season at 24-9 overall and 14-3 in Ohio Athletic Conference play, while the Muskies end their season 2-17, 10-8.
Ohio Northern clinched their fourth consecutive OAC Regular Season title earlier in the week and will host the 2012 OAC Tournament as the No. 1 seed Friday and Saturday at the ONU Softball Field.
Blewett finished the day 5-for-8 with a home run, a double and four RBI.
Trailing 6-5 in the top of the sixth inning of Game 2, freshman Kelly Sheridan drilled a 2-run home run to put the Polar Bears up 7-6.
Blewett followed with a solo home run to make it 8-6 and freshman Adriana Sikora followed with an RBI single to cap the four-run inning.
Sophomore Christin Miller and Sheridan each collected three hits in the nightcap.
Junior Abbey Bensing (11-4) earned the win with 4.0 innings of 2-hit relief.
Blewett had a RBI single in the top of the third to tie the opener 1-1, then singled home Sheridan in the top of the seventh to put ONU up 2-1.
But the Muskies got a pair of runs in the bottom of the seventh and won the game on a two-out, bases loaded walk.
Blewett and senior Cassie Gaye each had three hits in Game 1 for ONU.
