MARYVILLE, Tenn. — The Ohio Northern softball team finished the Maryville (Tenn.) Tournament with a 2-2 record after dropping a pair of games on Sunday.
The Polar Bears (7-5) fell 4-2 to Maryville Sunday morning, then dropped a 6-5 decision to Young Harris (Ga.) Sunday afternoon.
Junior All-American Kimi Blewett went 2 for 3 with two runs scored and two RBI as ONU fell to Maryville 4-2 in the opener.
MC scored once in the first and three more in the second to take a 4-0 lead.
Blewett's 2-run double in the top of the fifth trimmed the deficit to 4-2, but the Polar Bears would get no closer.
Against YHC, freshman Christin Miller was 3 for 4 to lead the Northern offense.
The Polar Bears led 4-0 after five innings but YHC scored six times in the top of the sixth to rally for the lead.
Northern pounded out 36 hits and scored 28 runs in victories over the two schools on Saturday to open the tournament with a 2-0 mark.
The Polar Bears will return to action Wednesday with a double header against Trine (Ind.)
