ONU Race Notes: Ohio Northern enters Saturday ranked No. 8 in the Great Lakes Region ... The men's race is 8,000 meters and starts at 1 p.m. ... All 10 teams in the Ohio Athletic Conference will be participating including two nationaly-ranked squads No. 6 John Carroll, and No.12 Otterbein ... Four teams including Ohio northern are ranked in the Great Lakes Region, John Carroll (No.1), Otterbein (No.2), Mount Union (No.4) ... Individual finishers in the top 10 will be awarded First Team All-OAC and finishers 11-20 will be named Second Team All-OAC ... Team Trophies will be awarded to top finishing teams ... ONU last won the team championship in 2012 and finished 4th in 2019 in which Otterbein took home the team title ... The Polar Bears last competed October 16th at the Oberlin Rumble finishing 11th of 35 teams ... Junior Breydan Hann led Ohio Northern with a 55th place finish out of 306 runners in 27:04 ... The other top-5 runners for ONU were sophomore Kyle Roth finishing 61st in 27:13, senior Cadeen Sauerbrey crossing in 68th in 27:18, junior Billy Driemeyer was 72nd in 27:20 and senior Patrick Baker crossed the line 101st in 27:45 ... Ohio Northern will compete next in the NCAA Great Lakes Regional November 13th at Shelbyville, Indiana.
Head Coach Jason Maus: Maus is in his 13th season as head coach of the men's cross country team … In 12 seasons at ONU, he has guided the men's cross country teams to a 1,233-324 record, a .792 win percentage, and four Ohio Athletic Conference crowns, while the women's cross country teams have compiled a 1,032-449 record, a .697 win percentage, and three OAC titles … Maus currently stands as the all-time winningest coach in Ohio Northern school history for both men's and women's cross-country.
