Men’s Cross Country finishes 4th of 11 teams at All-Ohio Championships

CEDARVILLE — The Ohio Northern men's cross country team raced at the All-Ohio Championships on Friday afternoon at the King Cross Country Course.
The Polar Bears (9-4) finished fourth of 11 teams among the Division III schools, scoring 110 points.
Overall, ONU was 14th of 28 teams with 361 points, placing ahead of Division II/NAIA schools Shawnee State, Mount Vernon Nazarene, Lake Erie, Rio Grande and Ohio Dominican.
Senior Patrick Baker (Massillon/Jackson) led the Polar Bears with a 16th-place finish of 95 Division III runners in 26:47 on the 8,000-meter course.
Freshman Trey Masterson (Tiffin/Hopewell Loudon) was 21st in 27:06, sophomore Ian Ackenhausen (Xenia/Legace Christian Academy) was 24th in 27:18, sophomore Braden Schaser (Fostoria/Lakota) was 27th in 27:26, sophomore Kyle Roth (Rockford/Parkway) was 28th in 27:38, junior Breydan Hann (Wooster) was 41st in 28:22, junior Billy Driemeyer (House Springs, Mo./Lindbergh) was 43rd in 28:23, senior Dylan McKean (Warren/Champion) was 50th in 28:48, and senior Travis Sutter (Sharpsburg/Fort Recovery) was 54th in 28:53.
John Carroll's Alex Phillip finished first among Division III runners in 24:52.
No. 12-ranked John Carroll won the Division III team title with 27 points. No. 17 Otterbein was second with 48 points, Case Western Reserve was third with 77 points, and Wilmington was fifth with 141 points.
Ohio Northern's next race is the Findlay Oiler Invite, which is set for Friday, Sept. 24, at 4:30 p.m.
