Men's Indoor Track and Field remains undefeated with victory at 6-team Joe Banks Invitational

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's indoor track and field team stayed undefeated on the young 2022 schedule with a victory at annual Joe Banks Invitational on Saturday afternoon at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears (9-0) finished with 357.5 points. Otterbein was second with 98 points, Earlham (Ind.) was third with 82.5, Rochester (Mich.) was fourth with 58, Mount Saint Joseph was fifth with 36 and Defiance was sixth with 24.
Freshman Jordan Dean (Euclid/Villa Angela Saint Joseph) won the 200-meter dash in :22.83 and the 400 in :50.50.
Senior Nate Dean (Euclid/Villa Angela Saint Joseph) won the 60-meter dash in :07.06 and was second in the 200 in :22.86.
Nate Dean also ran the leadoff leg in Northern's winning 4x400 relay team as sophomore Trey Myers (Dayton/Chaminade-Julienne), junior Branden Kadlubowski (Fremont/St. Joseph Central Catholic) and senior Vini Souza (Spencerville) finished in 3:32.52.
Senior Andrew Buderer (Oak Harbor) won the pole vault by clearing 4.45 meters.
Junior Selorm Adehe (Grove City/Central Crossing) won the 60 hurdles in :08.66.
Sophomore Tommy Vetrovsky (Macedonia/Nordonia) won the weight throw with a heave of 15.59 meters.
Myers won the 800 in 1:59.22.
Freshman Jacob Kreger (Granville) won the 500 in 1:10.15 and freshman Thomas Masterson (Tiffin/Hopewell-Loudon) won the 5,000 in 15:41.81.
Ohio Northern head coach Jason Maus tied former head coach Brian Cole on the men's indoor track and field victories list with a 555-140 overall record, a winning percentage of .797.
The Polar Bears will return to action Friday and Saturday at the Indiana Wesleyan Classic.
