Men's Indoor Track and Field opens 2022 season by winning third annual Larry Cole Invitational

ADA — The Ohio Northern men's indoor track and field team opened its 2022 schedule with a victory at the third annual Larry Cole Invitational on Friday night at the ONU Sports Center.
The Polar Bears (4-0) finished with 179 points. Ohio Wesleyan and Manchester (Ind.) tied for second with 108 points each, Adrian (Mich.) was fourth with 99 and Anderson (Ind.) was fifth with 16.
Senior Travis Sutter (Sharpsburg/Ft. Recovery) and ONU's 4x400 relay team each won events in meet-record efforts.
Sutter won the 3,000-meter run in a meet record 8:51.83, and freshman Jacob Kreger (Granville), sophomore David Gross (Prospect/Pleasant Local), junior Branden Kadlubowski (Fremont/St. Joseph Central Catholic) and junior Hunter Kesler (Oakwood/Paulding) won in a record 3:30.44.
Sophomore Trey Myers (Dayton/Chaminade-Julienne) won the 500 run in 1:08.02. Sophomore Tyler St. Onge (Litchfield, N.H./Campbell) was third in the event in 1:10.66.
Senior Sam Krabacher (Hamilton/Badin) and freshman Ryan Massie (Beavercreek) finished 2-3 in the 1-mile run in 4:27.10 and 4:31.70, respectively.
Freshman Tyrese Barker (Reynoldsburg/Bishop Hartley) was second in the high jump by clearing 1.86 meters.
Sophomore Gabe Hensley (Lebanon) was second in the long jump with a leap of 6.23 meters and freshman Isaac Schoen (Coldwater) was second in the 800 in 2:05.02.
In the 200 dash, junior Hunter Kesler (Oakwood/Paulding) was second in :22.90 and freshman Jordan Dean (Euclid/Villa Angela Saint Joseph) was third in :23.33.
Senior Jack Lehr (York, Pa./Dallastown) was third in the shot put with a toss of 13.61 meters.
Freshman Ozzie Miller (Dalton) was third in the 60 dash in :07.13.
The Polar Bears will return to action Jan. 29 when they host the annual Joe Banks Invitational.
