Friday's Meet: The Ohio Northern men's indoor track and field team opens its 2022 season on Friday hosting the third annual Larry Cole Invitational at the ONU Sports Center … Joining ONU in the meet are Adrian (Mich.), Anderson (Ind.), Manchester (Ind.) and Ohio Wesleyan … Fans in attendance are required to adhere to ONU's campus-wide COVID-19 policy … Field events are scheduled to begin at 5 p.m., and the track events are set to start at 6 p.m. … The Polar Bears return 30 lettermen from their 2021 team that went 26-5 and finished third in the Ohio Athletic Conference Indoor Championships and posted a 41-9 record and third-place finish in the OACs in the outdoor portion of the schedule … This season's roster is headlined by seniors Nate Dean, Sam Krabacher and Andrew Buderer … Dean qualified for the NCAA Indoor Championships in the 400-meter dash in 2019 and the 200-meter dash in 2020 and was named a USTFCCCA All-American in the latter event … Last season, Krabacher won the OAC championship in the indoor and outdoor 800 meters while Buderer won the conference titles in the indoor and outdoor pole vaults … Krabacher also earned All-OAC status in the indoor and outdoor 4x400-meter relay, and Buderer added an All-OAC accolade in the outdoor 4x100-meter relay last season … The Polar Bears return eight other All-OAC performers from a year ago in seniors Travis Sutter and Luke Shellhaas; juniors Brandon Berry, Hunter Kesler, Vini Souza and Billy Driemeyer; and sophomores David Gross and Keegan Digby … Krabacher, Buderer, Dean, Shellhaas and Digby also earned USTFCCCA All-Great Lakes Region accolades last season … For a complete season preview of the Ohio Northern men's track and field team, click the link above.
