This Weekend's Preview: The Ohio Northern men's track and field team continues its 2019 outdoor campaign this Saturday at the Bob Kahn Invitational, hosted by Oberlin ... Field events are slated for a 10:30 a.m. start with the men's javelin and the women's hammer throw competitions ... Running events will get underway at 1 p.m. with a combined men's and women's 10,000-meter run ... The Polar Bears currently own a 33-2 overall record this season after earning team runner-up honors at the Emory (Ga.) Classic last weekend ... Over the two-day meet, senior Spencer Schulze, freshman Caden Sauerbrey, and the 4x800-meter relay squad each won event titles to help guide the ONU performances ... Schulze claimed the men's 10,000-meter run title after crossing the tape in 32:18.84, leading three Polar Bear scorers in the event ... Sauerbrey had an impressive meet, culminating in the 5,000-meter run event title ... The freshman posted a 15:19.58 Friday evening to win the event, which was split into three separate heats over the weekend ... Junior Andrew Shelton, sophomores Jordan Green and Sam Krabacher, and senior All-American Ian McVey won the 4x800 in 8:03.79 to best the six-team field by over eight seconds ... In all, Ohio Northern registered 14 top-eight performances on the weekend to help score 80 points and end second place overall.
Head Coach Jason Maus: Maus is currently in his 10th season leading the Ohio Northern men's and women's track and field programs at Ohio Northern ... He owns a 431-119-2 overall record in men's outdoor track and field, a .783 win percentage.
