This Weekend's Preview: The Ohio Northern men's track and field program continues its 2019 outdoor slate this weekend with a trip to the two-day Emory (Ga.) Classic in Atlanta, Georgia ... On Friday, field events begin at 2 p.m. with the men's hammer throw and the women's javelin competition while running events start at 3:30 p.m. with the 400-meter hurdles ... The meet resumes Saturday morning at 10 a.m. with the men's shot put, women's discus, and preliminary races in the sprint/hurdle disciplines ... The Polar Bears enter the weekend sporting a 12-1 overall record after finishing second at the Muskingum Invitational with 85.5 points last weekend ... Junior Andrew Shelton, sophomore Travis Sutter, and the 4x400-relay squad each won event titles to lead the ONU efforts ... Shelton claimed the 800-meter run title with a career-best 1:59.02 clocking ... Meanwhile, Sutter established a new meet record in 6:27.39 to win the 2,000-meter steeplechase ... Cody Benny, Colin McCullough, Jared Fox, and Donovin Moran rounded out the event victories, bringing home the 4x400-meter relay title in 3:33.05 ... McCullough also clocked a :57.08 to take third in the 400-meter hurdles ... Freshman Caden Sauerbrey captured the final top-three finish on the track with a third-place result in the 1,500-meter run in 4:08.11 ... In the field, the Polar Bears received two top-three efforts from sophomore thrower Matt Bradshaw and freshman pole vaulter Luke Shellhaas ... The former launched a career-best 46.90-meter (153' 10") throw in the discus while the latter cleared 4.40 meters (14' 5.25") to take third in their respective events.
