Clark earns All-OAC honors twice as Men's Swimming and Diving remains in second place after Day 3 of 2025 OAC Championships

AKRON — The Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team remained in second place after the third day of the 2025 Ohio Athletic Conference Championships meet on Friday.
The Basics
- Records: Ohio Northern (5-3 overall).
- Venue: Ocasek Natatorium - Akron, Ohio.
- Ohio Northern is in second place out of 6 teams with 440 points after 13 the 20 events over a four-day span.
- John Carroll leads the team standings with 617 points, Mount Union is third with 343 points, Baldwin Wallace is fourth with 255 points, Wilmington is fifth with 250 points and Heidelberg is sixth with 89 points.
Meet Highlights
- The 200 medley relay team of junior Selby Wilt (Findlay), junior Nathan Clark (Cleves/Elder), freshman Chase McCluskey (Pickerington/North) and senior Brady Horgan (New Richmond/McNicholas) was second in 1:31.89, earning All-Conference honors.
- Clark also earned All-Conference honors in the 100 breast with a second place finish in :55.63
- Five other Polar Bears also placed in the top 8 in the 100 breast.
- Sophomore Grayson Morgan (Clyde) was fourth in :57.51, freshman Austin Peace (Eaton) was fifth in :58.29, sophomore Josh Ray (Howell, Mich./Hartland) was sixth in :58.,84, freshman Reid Thomas (Clarksville, Md./River Hill) was seventh in :59.66 and senior Ben Starling (Mansfield/Lexington) was eighth in 1:00.10.
- Junior Riley Verb (Bluffton), junior Long Huynh (Billings, Mt./West) and sophomore Josh Ray (Howell, Mich./Hartland) all placed in the top 8 of the 400 I.M. Verb was sixth in 4:14.24, Huynh was sixth in 4:15.79 and Ray was eighth in 4:21.23.
- Freshman Chase McCluskey (Pickerington/North) was fifth in the 200-yard free in 1:42.14.
- Junior Simon Bopple (Cleveland/Shaker Heights) was fourth in the 100 back in :51.23 and Wilt was sixth in :51.81
Notables
- The meet consists of 20 events, including 13 individual races, five relays and two diving events.
- The top three individuals and top two relays in each event earn All-Conference honors.
- This marks the sixth time in the past nine seasons that ONU has earned All-OAC accolades in the 200 medley relay.
- Clark is now a three-time All-OAC honoree in the 100 breast after finishing second in 2023 and third last season.
- Ohio Northern has won 12 OAC Championships titles since 2005.
- Austin Veltman is 36-20 in his seventh season as head coach of the Polar Bears.
