Weekend Preview: The Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team will begin the 2023 portion of its schedule this weekend with a tri-meet at Oberlin with No. 2-ranked Kenyon and an OAC dual meet at Mount Union on Saturday ... The Polar Bears are coming off their annual winter training trip to Arizona Jan. 2-12 ... Ohio Northern has not competed since the non-scoring Chicago (Ill.) Phoenix Fall Classic on Nov. 18-20 ... The Polar Bears finished the non-scoring meet with 10 top-20 finishes at the University of Chicago's 10-lane pool ... Sophomore Holden Cubberley led Ohio Northern, placing third in the 1-meter diving with 482.00 points for 11 dives and placing fourth in the 3-meter diving competition, scoring 468.15 points over 11 dives ...  Cubberley's efforts surpassed the NCAA "B" Cut in both events ... Senior Jackson Stanley also had a top-10 finish, touching in seventh place in the 100 fly in :49.94 ... Stanley also had a 20th place finish in the 1650 free in 17:13.55 ... Cubberley ranks fifth nationally in the 1-meter diving for 11 dives with a season-best total of 480.55 points ... He is also 54th for 6 dives with 289.35 points ... He is seventh in 3-meter diving for 11 dives with 488.80 points and is 68th for 6 dives with 272.78 points ... Kenyon enters the meet ranked No. 2 in the country ... The Owls will compete with their JV squad on Friday, as the varsity unitl will compete at Cincinnnati ... KC is 4-0 with wins over Cleveland State, Saint Bonaventure, Ohio Wesleyan and #8 Denison ... Oberlin has a 4-3 dual meet record this season with wins over Ashland, Malone and Notre Dame College (twice) and losses to Mount Union, Ashland and #20 John Carroll ... Mount Union is 2-2 overall and is 0-2 in the OAC with a 174-88 loss to #20 John Carroll and a tight 117.5-116.5 loss to Baldwin Wallace.
