Men's Swimming and Diving opens OAC slate with 191-65 victory at Wilmington

WILMINGTON — The Ohio Northern men's swimming and diving team opened the Ohio Athletic Conference portion of its schedule on Friday night with a 191-65 victory at Wilmington at the Wilmington Natatorium.
The Polar Bears (1-0 overall, 1-0 OAC) won 12 of the 14 events and got two wins each from seniors Jeremy Adams (Ypsilanti, Mich./Ann Arbor Pioneer) and Jackson Stanley (Beavercreek) and sophomore Ben Lacey (Lebanon).
Adams won the 50-meter breast in :30.61 and the 100-meter back in 1:05.65, Stanley won the 50-meter back in :29.81 and the 100-meter I.M. in 1:03.84 and Lacey won the 50-meter fly on :26.28 and the 100-meter fly in :57.61.
Sophomore Patrick Wellman (Dublin/Jerome) won the 800-meter free in 9:25.05.
Freshmen Brady Horgan (New Richmond/McNicholas, Ben Starling (Mansfield/Home Schooled) and Heath Stutler (Holland, Mich./Hamilton) also won events for ONU.
Horgan won the 100-meter free in :54.29, Starling won the 100-meter breast in 1:11.02 and Stutler won the 400 free in 4:40.91.
Northern also won the 200-meter medley relay in 1:52.22 and the 200-meter free relay in 1:38.20.
The Quakers fall to 0-2, 0-1.
The Polar Bears will return to action quickly with a Saturday meet at against Alma (Mich.) at Hillsdale, Mich.
