This weekend's matches: Ohio Northern will host the annual ONU Invitational on Fri.-Sat. Sept. 8-9 ... The Polar Bears will host Ohio Athletic Conference-foe Wilmington, Thomas More (Ky.) and Kalamazoo (Mich.) in the tournament ... After Thomas More (Ky.) and Wilmington open the tournament with a match at 1 pm on Friday, Northern will take on the Kalamazoo (Mich.) Hornets at 3 pm ... Northern enters the tournament after defeating Wittenberg 2-1 in its home opener at Kerscher Stadium on Wednesday evening ... The Polar Bears were led by junior Joseph Schulte and senior Colin Johnson as each scored a goal to lead ONU offensively ... Senior Grant Cayot assisted on both goals ... Schulte and senior Cory Lains would also assist on goals for ONU ... Junior keeper Kyle Dunnavant earned the victory in the net for ONU after recording two saves ... After its 3 pm contest against Kalamazoo (Mich.) on Friday, ONU will conclude play in the tournament on Saturday at 3 pm as it takes on Thomas More (Ky.) ... Wilmington will take on Kalamazoo (Mich.) at 1 pm ... Wilmington enters the tournament on a 2-game skid, dropping two contests after winning its season-opener against the Covenant Scots ... Junior Treshaun Pate and freshman Emil Martin and Willie Winald have each scored for the Quakers, while junior Benny Spirk and sophomore Roman Kirschner each have an assist to lead the team ... Kalamazoo (Mich.) enters the tournament after splitting its first two contests of the season ... Freshman Ryan Melgar leads the team with two goals, while Nick Kraeuter ranks second on the team with one goal ... The freshmen trio of Bobby Dennerll, Ben Meschke, and Daniel Qin each have one assist apiece ... Thomas More (Ky.) enters the tournament after splitting its first two contests of the season ... The Saints are coming off a 1-0 victory over Centre (Ky.) ... Juniors Zane Ross and Sam Lewis have each scored a goal to lead the Saints offensively, while junior Jeff Paulin leads TMC in the goal with a 1-1-0 record and eight saves.
