Anderson fires 1-over par 72 as Men's Golf finishes 6th of 13 at Defiance Invitational

DEFIANCE — Junior Nick Anderson (Mason) fired 1-over par 72 to lead the Ohio Northern men's golf team to a sixth place finish in the 13-team Defiance Fall Invitational on Sunday at Eagle Rock Golf Course.

The Polar Bears (15-31 overall) finished with an 18-hole total of 312 on the 6130-yard, par-71 course.

Anderson finished second out of 85 golfers with his 1-over par 34-38—72.

Senior Zach Goodchild (Pickerington/North) tied for 16th with a 77, junior Joshua Turich (Centerville) tied for 31st with a 79 and freshman Shane Meek (Port Clinton) tied for 60th with 84.

Heidelberg won the team title with 294, Miami-Hamilton was second with a 304 and Tiffin was third with a 305.

Heidelberg's Kurtiz Lazur won Medalist honors with a 67.

The Polar Bears will wrap up their Fall season Oct. 19-20 at the Defiance Yellow Jacket Invitational.
