Bio

Tom Heffelfinger is in his first season as an assistant coach at Ohio Northern and will support the day-to-day operations, on campus recruiting efforts, assisting the long snapping unit on the field as well as creative content for recruiting/branding purposes within the football program.

Prior to Ohio Northern, he worked with the Tennessee State football program with creative content for all social media pages along with his foundation.

Before this, Heffelfinger spent a year and a half with the University of Akron as the assistant director of high school relations.

He helped organize the Youngstown State’s creative structure in the spring of 2020.

Heffelfinger spent three seasons on Urbana’s coaching staff. He began his tenure as the special teams quality control coach in the summer of 2018 before shifting gears to recruiting. He also served as the main graphic designer for football and worked with the creative marketing strategy within the Athletic Communications office.

Prior to Urbana, Heffelfinger coached two years of Ohio high school football as he served as the special teams coordinator and associate head coach at Northwestern High School in Springfield.

Heffelfinger has also done Freelance work for several NCAA schools and coaches including Ashland University, Catawba College, Long Island University, Tarleton State, UAB, Notre Dame and Ohio State. Along with this, personal branding for coaches throughout college football.

A native of Piqua, Heffelfinger helped Piqua High School to a state championship in 2006 before attending The Ohio State University.

Heffelfinger graduated from Ohio State in 2018 with a degree in strategic communications. While at OSU, he was a walk-on and student manager on the football team.
