Baseball rides the long ball to 10-1 victory at Trine (Ind.)

ANGOLA, Ind. — The Ohio Northern baseball team picked up a 10-1 victory over Trine (Ind.) thanks to the long ball, as four seperate Polar Bears homered in the contest on Tuesday.

The Game
- Sophomore Devon Morris (Archbold) set the tone early when he launched a 3-run homer to give the Polar Bears a 3-0 lead in the top of the first inning.
- The Polar Bears added to the lead thanks to a grand slam by senior Elliott Veenstra (Findlay/Liberty-Benton) in the 6th inning.
- Senior Blake Altaffer (Monteplier) (2-1) started on the mound for ONU, throwing 5.0 scoreless innings, on his way to pick up the win.
- Sophomore Evan Russ (Westfield, Ind.) hit a 2-run homer in the top of the 9th building on the Northern lead.
- Senior Andrew Stechschulte (Findlay) followed with a solo homer in the frame to cap off a 10-run day for the Polar Bears offense.
- Eight Polar Bear hitters recorded a hit on the day, with Morris, Stechschulte, and junior Robbie Reed (Goshen, Ky./Trinity) all recording 2 hits.

- Ohio Northern now leads the all-time series 13-5 over Trine.
