Baseball stages late comeback to force extras, outlasts Calvin (Mich.) 10-6 in 13 innings

DAVENPORT, Fla. — The Ohio Northern baseball team reached the halfway mark of its annual spring break trip with an impressive comeback victory in 13 innings against Calvin (Mich.) 10-6 on Tuesday.

- The Polar Bears took their first lead of the game in the 13th inning on an RBI walk by sophomore Devin Morris (Archbold) and Sam Sells drew a hit-by-pitch which made it 8-6.
- Two more inusrance runs would cross on wild pitches, growing the ONU lead to 10-6.
- Ohio Northern trailed 6-4 going into the 9th inning, but tied the game on a 2-RBI single by Morris with the bases loaded.
- Northern trailed 6-0 early in the game, but got close in the 6th inning behind a 2-RBI single by freshman Charlie Oakleaf (New Albany) and an RBI single by junior Robbie Reed (Goshen, Ky./Trinity) which made it 6-4.
- Oakleaf led the Polar Bears offense on the with 3 hits, 2 RBIs, and 2 runs.
- Senior Brady Corbitt (Plain City/Jonathan Alder) threw 5.0 scoreless innings, only allowing one hit, in relief to pick up the win and improve to 1-0 on the year.
- Fifth-year senior Kaidan Domer (Orrville) threw 4.0 hitless shutout innings preceding Corbitt, notching 4 strikeouts.
