Junior Blake Altaffer and Freshman Kyler Lapp named OAC Baseball Players of the Week

ADA — Ohio Northern junior Blake Altaffer (Montpelier) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Pitcher of the Week and freshman Kyler Lapp (Hall, Ill.) was named the Ohio Athletic Conference Hitter of the Week for the week of Feb. 26-Mar. 3.

Altaffer's recognition comes after he pitched seven strong innings, allowing only four hits and one earned run to get the win 5-2 against Asbury (Ky.) on Sunday afternoon and improve to 1-0 on the season.

Lapp's recognition comes after hitting two home runs and driving in a team-high five runs in the three-game series at Ashbury (Ky.) this weekend.

Altaffer and Lapp are each receiving the honor for the first time.

The Polar Bears (2-1 overall) return to action on Saturday against Salve Regina (R.I.) at the Russ Matt Invitational in Auburndale, Fla., at 12:30 p.m.
