ADA -- Freshman Jack Schaller's (Bowling Green) second game pitching gem led the Ohio Northern baseball team in a double header split at Heidelberg on Saturday afternoon in Tiffin.
The Polar Bears (16-17 overall, 5-9 in the Ohio Athletic Conference) won the nightcap 1-0 after the Student Princes (16-15, 6-8) won the opener 6-0.
Schaller went 7.2 innings in the game two victory while only allowing two hits and fanning five batters.
Northern was led by senior Kyle Schlade (Hamilton/Talawanda) offensively as he went a combined 3-for-6 in the two contests and added an RBI.
Heidelberg got on the board early to take a 1-0 lead after the first inning.
From there a defensive battle would ensue as over the next three innings.

Junior closer T.J. Storer (Loveland/Moeller) slammed the door in the game two victory to earn his nation-leading 11th save of the season.
The Polar Bears return to action return to action Tuesday afternoon as they host Kalamazoo (Mich.) in a twinbill at Wander Field at 1 pm.
