ADA -- The Ohio Northern baseball team fell 13-0, 10-2 to Ohio Athletic Conference foe Baldwin Wallace Tuesday afternoon at Wander Field.
The Polar Bears drop to 14-14 overall and 5-7 in the OAC, while the Yellow Jackets improve to 15-17, 6-6.
Freshman Caleb Thomas led the way for Northern at the plate as he went a combined 4-for-8 in the two contests and added a run in game two.
Northern fell behind early in game one as BW jumped out to a 6-0 lead after the first three innings.
After threatening on multiple occasions, Northern was unable to overcome the early deficit.
Sophomore Zach Foster recorded a team-high three strikeouts during the first contest.
ONU would find itself in a familiar position in game two as the Yellow Jackets jumped out to a 4-0 lead early on in the contest.
The Polar Bears were able to answer in the bottom of the third inning as freshman Luke Klinehoffer hit an RBI single to right field to score sophomore T.J. Storer and close the gap to 4-1.
Klinehoffer was again able to help the Polar Bears close the margin in the bottom of the fifth inning as he hit a single to center field and scored Thomas to make the score 4-2.
Ohio Northern was unable to get any closer to Baldwin Wallace as the Yellow Jackets went on to win the game 10-2.
Senior Ben Eckert posted a game-high four strikeouts in 2.1 innings of work on the mound.
Northern will return to action Wednesday as they travel to Wittenberg to take on the Tigers at 6:30 pm.
