Belliveau hits two home runs, drives in six to power Baseball past Albion (Mich.) 17-7

ADA -- Senior Dan Belliveau drilled two home runs and drove in six runs to power the Ohio Northern baseball team to a 17-7 victory over Albion (Mich.) in the 2015 home opener Thursday afternoon at Wander Field.
The Polar Bears run their win streak to 10 games and improve to 11-1, while the Britons fall to 6-3.
Belliveau hit home runs just inside each foul pole, finishing the day 2-for-4 with six RBI.
He hit a 3-run shot just inside the right field foul pole in the fifth inning to give ONU a 9-3 lead.
Belliveau then led off the bottom of the seventh with a solo shot down the left field line to make it 10-4 Polar Bears.
He also drew a bases-loaded walks in the first and eighth innings, giving him 12 RBI in the past two games.
Belliveau now leads the team with five home runs and 26 RBI.
After AC scored twice in the top of the first, ONU answered with five runs in the home half of the inning to take an early 5-2 lead
Northern took advantage of six walks and a RBI single by freshman Jordan Bostater to score five times in the frame.
ONU scored seven more runs in the bottom of the eighth, keyed by back-to-back 2-run singles by freshman Dan McMullen junior Clay Small.
Junior Ben Eckert (1-0) picked up the win on the mound, allowing only four hits and one earned run in 5.0 innings of relief.
The Polar Bears will return to action Saturday when they open the Ohio Athletic Conference portion of their schedule with a 1 pm double header at Wilmington.
