WOOSTER -- Sophomore Nick Eltzroth blasted a 3-run homer, but the Ohio Northern baseball team dropped a 16-8 decision to non-conference foe Wooster on Tuesday afternoon.
The Polar Bears drop to 23-12 on the season, while the Fighting Scots improve to 24-12.
Eltzroth's homer was his first of the season and capped off ONU's four run first inning.
Wooster would get a run back in the bottom of the frame, cutting Northern's lead to 4-1.
The Polar Bears got two more runs in the third, on a 2-RBI single from sophomore Cody Meyer, making the score 6-1.
The Fighting Scots would storm back, scoring five times in the bottom of the third to tie the game at 6-6.
ONU came right back in the fourth, getting RBI singles from senior Daniel Rodriguez and sophomore Reed Allen to retake the lead at 8-6.
Wooster would take the lead in the fourth, plating four more runs to gain the lead and never look back.
Offensively, junior Dan Belliveau and Rodriguez paced ONU with two hits apiece.
Ohio Northern will have a quick turnaround and will travel to take on Mount Saint Joseph on Wednesday at 6 pm.
